Mindfulness 

In mindfulness training, you cultivate the skill of paying attention, gaining awareness of your habitual mental patterns, bodily sensations, emotions, and reactions. This heightened awareness empowers individuals to choose the wisest response in any given situation.

Mindfulness extends beyond self-awareness, fostering kindness and compassion for both ourselves and others. It guides us in developing the skill of empathy, encouraging us to understand and embrace differences, while recognizing our shared humanity. This approach leads to stronger relationships, more engaged communities, and contributes to creating a more accepting, caring, and kinder world.

How can this be achieved? Simply by returning, time after time, to the breath and paying attention.

Emma from The Well Web hosted a weekly course of on-line mindfulness via Zoom.

She encouraged that we set up a quite space and make it cosy. For me that was in my bedroom with candles, incense and some crystals.

As it was all done on Zoom I was in my PJs and all set for full relaxation.

After each guided meditation session (which was deeply relaxing), I would get a full nights rest. This would set me up for the rest of the working week.

Emma would follow up the next day by e-mail with extra links for helpful resources on mindfulness and a top line summary of what key takeaways that she covered.

I now have my daily mantra. I take a few long deep belly breaths and think ‘The here & the now’.

A daily reminder to live for the now.
